Clearing up that GDPR and Brexit confusion

What do you need to know?
The UK and EU have agreed that personal data can continue to flow between the two for the next 6 months
When we exited the transition period, initially the UK would have been a 3rd country
That means your business would have had to put certain documentation in place, ‘data processing agreements’, with EU companies to be able to receive EU personal data
This isn’t the case now, until at least June. The UK and the EU will (hopefully) make an agreement by June as to what’s going to happen with GDPR
If the EU says the UK is equivalent in terms of its law, we can continue to transfer data – but that hasn’t been said (yet!)
So for the next 6 months, essentially we’ll continue as we have been
Fingers crossed we’ll find out more in a few months time
